Burn's Night

In Scotland, Robert Burns is remembered.
In China, New Year's celebrations continue for 15 days.

Dragon celebration will be all year at my house.

I am gathering the materials to sew a stuffed Dragon.

I already know her name, Fa`.

The Kimono is made from fabric panels.
It is designed to waste very little fabric.
The Kimono is a wonderful example of yuga.

I enjoy looking through craft books.

These woolies are very cute indeed.

Inspiration

I love simple projects.

I can see cookies served in these bowls.
This is one of my favorite papercraft books.

I am cutting up old clothes and organizing the pieces.
I have ideas for projects.

Wools go into my wool applique box and
silks and cottons go into boxes.
I am organizing fabric and notions.
I am inspired to create.

Honshitsu/Seizui

I have begun my study
 "Elements of Japanese Design".
It is a lifetime adventure.

In January I am focusing on Honshitsu / Seizui.
It is learning the real essence of a thing.

In our media room our Ficus is our focal.
We have repotted her.
She is my soul tree. I honor her.
I made curtains for our room.
I used a lovely hand painted silk.

The wind has shifted.
The temperatures have dropped.
A midwinter Jicker is rolling in.
Brr.....
I hope it snows!
